APPLE PIE BREAD PUDDING
Ingredients:
*4 cups of bread cubes (use day-old bread for best results)
*2 cups of peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith)
*1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
*4 large eggs
*2 cups of milk
*1/2 cup of granulated sugar
*1/2 cup of brown sugar
*1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
*1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
*1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
*1/4 teaspoon of salt
*1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes, diced apples, and raisins. Spread this mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
4. Slowly pour the egg mixture over the bread and apples in the baking dish. Press down on the bread to make sure it’s soaked in the liquid.
5. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the pudding.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
8. Optional: Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat.
